Who we are
The International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) is an international and intergovermental organization created in 1921.
In homage to Belgium which took the initiative in founding the precursory organization of the International Committee of Military Medicine, the seat of the Secretariat General of the ICMM is located in Belgium.

Member States
Currently, 120 countries are members of the ICMM, plus three observer members. The founding countries are : Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America.
History of the International Committee of Military Medicine
Back in Belgium, Jules VONCKEN convinced his military authorities and, with the support of His Majesty the King of the Belgians ALBERT I, the Comité Permanent des Congrès Internationaux de Médecine et de Pharmacie Militaires (CPCIMPM) was officially founded on July 21, 1921. The eight founding countries were Belgium, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France and Brazil. The first congress of military medicine and pharmacy was held in Brussels in 1921.
